Should we divide our states?

After Telangana there is call for separate state of Gorkhaland, Bundelkhand, Vidarbha, Harit Pradesh and Saurashtra. Main question is that do we need small state for proper development or it is just divide and rule politics. We can not divide states over language and religion. There is no parameter to judge that due to large area of state or population, there is need to divide state into two or more part. Small state does not guaranty of progress and development. We can take example of Jharkhan separated from Bihar on 15 November 2000, is not progressing as much as expected at time of separation. In my point of view demand for new state have political interest rather than progress of that part. Many part of India is undeveloped and backward as compare to other rest of country, it cause dissatisfaction within people. Regional political parties playing with the emotion of people, they are not interested in progress of people.
It is difficult to manage several small states for center government, system become complex. In establishment of new state huge amount of investment required, it needs to setup new infrastructure. We have to construct assembly, offices and residences for minister and officer. Instant investing capital in such thing, it should be invested in warfare scheme for people of that region. We can develop any part of country, if we have determination, it do not depend on region, language and religion.

  1. I think even if the states are divided into smaller ones, the dirty game of regional political parties would still continue dividing the people even further
